The Israelites had to choose.

By painting their doorposts with blood from a sacrificial animal, they were sending a critical message. This message is that they accepted what God said. Wanting to choose life, they knew that this was the way to safety. This act was another step towards their impending deliverance and freedom. Dispatched from heaven, the death angel knew to pass over the homes with stained doorposts. Those were the homes of God’s followers.

In addition to a safety measure, the blood was also a testimony to the Egyptians and other Israelite believers. In painting their doorposts, they were saying that they chose to trust God one more time. So far, they had been protected and spared during the previous nine plagues. Though Pharaoh’s heart grew harder and colder each time something happened in Egypt, the oppressed clung to the belief that God would rescue them somehow.

The same is true for us today. Revelation 12:11 (NLT) says “And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony.”

Jesus, our ultimate animal sacrifice, used His blood to cleanse us, save us and redeem us before God. While we no longer have to paint our doorposts with blood, we can still tell this good news. Our testimony, our story is what will encourage others to try trusting God.

Have you ever met someone whom God doesn’t love? I have not. However, I have met numerous people who have no idea that God is a loving God who desires to save each of us.

How are people supposed to learn this?

Through us. Through our story. People are encouraged when we share our experiences. It becomes more relatable when God, a Being who is somewhere out there, has positively affected the lives of someone we know personally. Seeds of faith are planted as we start to believe that if God can do something great for them, He can do it for us too.

“Kneeling With the Savior”, 21 days of prayer and fasting has ended. We are continuing to see God work. Prayers are being answered. Healing has occurred. There are new employees. Meetings that once seemed to never work out are now happening. God has put people in the right path of the right people who could help them. We have also seen some difficult challenges arise. Things that only God can handle. We continue to trust Him for the outcome.

If you’d like to share a story about what God has done for you, please contact Sabrina. We’re blessed with multiple platforms from which to share your story.

We need to keep sharing our stories so that everyone will know of the power of the blood of the Lamb.
