He Is Coming

Unknowingly, the alarm clock was disconnected the night before their international vacation, causing the time to reset incorrectly. Unaware, the family overslept, waking after incessant ringing and banging at their door in the morning.

Scrambling, each one began doing whatever was necessary to leave the house. Soon they rushed off to the airport and were frantically running to their gate. Once settled on the plane, flying over the ocean and very far from home, they realized they had forgotten one key detail. Someone was left behind!

While this scene from the film “Home Alone” is comical to watch, it may also be a reflection of our spiritual lives.

Unknowingly, we may get disconnected from our ‘Power Source’: God. Our faith should be regularly tended to ensure that we have a working connection. Otherwise we may find ourselves snuggled in, only to sleep longer than intended.

Thankfully, we have a gracious God who offers wake up calls.

As we’re earnestly trying to make it through the day, troubles with people, places, and things pop up out of nowhere. Our focus shifts from the end goal, Heaven, to just trying to make it through today.

40 days of prayer, themed Maranatha 2022, are planned from April 5 to May 14, 2022. This is a great time to check our connection with God, to ensure that we’re filled with His power. It’s also a time to remind ourselves that we want to be ready to meet Jesus when He comes back to take us home.

In the twinkling of an eye, He is coming
Like a thief in the night, He’ll be there
We will meet Him in the air in all His glory
Maranatha, He is coming, He’ll be there

Maranatha, Maranatha
Yes, Jesus is coming again
Maranatha, Maranatha
Yes, Jesus is coming again
He’s coming again

If He came here today, would you be ready?
Would you know for sure that He’s your Lord?
By accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
We will live with the King forevermore

Maranatha, Maranatha
Yes, Jesus is coming again
Maranatha, Maranatha
Yes, Jesus is coming again
He’s coming again
